How to get involved
During Ramadan, Muslims pay special attention to charity giving and helping others.
Living in the United States, Muslims are encouraged to reach out, to build bridges and to work with colleagues and neighbours around them who are not Muslim, to share their faith and build on their shared values.
It is in the spirit of Ramadan's hospitality and outreach that we are encouraging communities to come together and take part in two main activities:
- A Taste of Faith
The event can include talks and tour of the mosque or can simply be an invitation to the Iftar meal at sunset.
- A Time to Give
Encouraging community groups, schools, youth groups, family groups, mosques and anyone who feels they want to take part, to organise a flash-mob in public places
If you want to get involve either financially or help cleaning and organising the Iftar please fill free to write to firstname.lastname@example.org
Those who spend their wealth by night and day, by stealth and openly, verily their reward is with their Lord, and their shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. (Al-Quran 2:274)
