Based on Saudi Arabia’s announcement for the start of the month of Dhul Hijjah, the Day of Arafat will be on Monday Oct 14th and Eid al-Adha will be on Tuesday Oct. 15th, 2013.

Insh’Allah, the Islamic Center of Greater St. Joseph will hold Eid-al-Adha prayer at its center on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Takbeerat will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the Eid prayer jamaat salah will be at 9 a.m.

A light breakfast at the masjid will follow the prayer. Press release here.

The Islamic Center of Greater St. Joseph also strongly recommends that you fast on the Day of ‘Arafah, this Monday, October 14. The Prophet (PBUH) said “Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year, and fasting on ‘Ashura, (the tenth day of Muharram) atones for the sins of previous years.” [Reported by all except al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi].
